Acceptable Use

Acceptable Use Policy

Effective May 4, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes how you may and may not use watch.ckindiefilms.com (the “Service”). It is part of, and incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service. Violations may result in account suspension, termination, civil action, and/or criminal referral.

Personal, non-commercial use only

Your subscription, rentals, and purchases license you to stream films for personal viewing in private settings. You may not stream in any commercial setting (bars, hotels, classrooms, theaters), at any public event, or as part of any service or product you offer to others.

Anti-piracy — the strict prohibitions

You may not, and may not assist any third party to:

  • Circumvent DRM or any technical protection measure, including modifying browser policies, using DRM-defeating extensions, intercepting playback streams at the network or OS layer, or attempting to extract decryption keys.
  • Remove or alter watermarks, whether visible (corner overlay) or burned-in (Cloudflare forensic watermark embedded in video frames). Each playback session embeds a watermark that uniquely identifies your account.
  • Record, capture, or screen-record any film delivered through the Service, including via OBS, Camtasia, mobile screen recorders, HDMI capture cards, or any equivalent.
  • Re-broadcast or re-distribute any film, in whole or in part, to any audience or third party — including private group chats, Discord servers, file-sharing networks, social media reposts, or “rip” archives.
  • Scrape, mirror, or systematically download our catalog or any portion of it; reverse-engineer our APIs to enumerate films, users, or sessions; or harvest watermarks or session UUIDs for any purpose.
  • Share, sell, lease, or rent account credentials. Each account is personal and non-transferable.

Other prohibited conduct

  • Probe, penetration-test, or stress the Service’s infrastructure without our written permission.
  • Use the Service to violate any applicable law, infringe any third-party right, or carry out fraudulent payment activity.
  • Provide false information at sign-up, to checkout, or in any dispute or refund process.
  • Interfere with another user’s use of the Service (account takeover, harassment, etc.).

How we monitor and enforce

We do not monitor the content of your viewing — what you watch is private. We do log session metadata (timestamps, device, country) and forensic identifiers (session UUID, account email watermark) for every playback. If a leaked recording surfaces, we use those identifiers to determine which account was the source.

Our enforcement ladder, in order of severity:

  1. Warning + grace period. First offenses for credential-sharing or minor terms violations get a 7-day notice to stop.
  2. Suspension. Repeat offenses, or any first offense involving DRM circumvention or content redistribution, result in immediate account suspension and a 14-day investigation.
  3. Termination + forfeiture. Confirmed piracy, credential trafficking, or DMCA strikes result in permanent termination, forfeiture of remaining subscription value, and forfeiture of unused TVOD entitlements (no refund).
  4. Civil action. We reserve the right to pursue statutory copyright damages of up to $150,000 per work under 17 U.S.C. § 504(c)(2) for willful infringement, plus injunctive relief, costs, and attorneys’ fees.
  5. Criminal referral. Willful copyright infringement for commercial advantage or private financial gain is a federal crime under 17 U.S.C. § 506 and 18 U.S.C. § 2319, punishable by up to 5 years in prison for a first offense. We refer credible cases to the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
